So a little about me...
Recently moved to Chattanooga and getting acquainted with my new surroundings. Got my first "older" VW, ( we have newer water cooled VW's ) when we got here. A 1970 beetle that was in the garage of the house we bought. The car would not start though the owner said it did run,he just didn't drive it much. He said the car suffered a fire some time ago and was put back together. Made him an offer and we were on our way.
Once I got some time, after un-packing, to look at he car, I found the wire on the points
had failed / shorted. A set of new points and she fired right up. We then started going
through it, with plans of doing a complete restoration in the future. For now though, we
wanted to drive around a bit and save the money needed.
My family and I are excited to find there is a VW club here in Chattanooga and look forward to attending events and cruises. We were members of Low Country VW Club in Charleston, SC, and found the VW crowd to be the best around.
