« on: January 01, 2014, 04:45:40 PM »
Happy New Year everyone, I just now joined the forum so I am new here.
I live in Mexico, I have a 1995 beetle, some people claim that is impossible, but in Mexico it is, the still were making them in 1995.  I have made a few trips back and forth form here ,Durango, to Oklahoma, and back,  so anyway nice to meet everyone.

Welcome to the Volks Folks forums!

The "Long Distance" award at Bug-A-Paluza 3 went to a guy who drove his 2001 air-cooled Beetle from Mexico City to Chattanooga.  One of our club members used to own a 1998 Mexican Beetle.  Those later Beetles from Mexico were super nice cars!  They had another 20+ years of improvements over the last ones we got here in the states.   :redbug:

Also thank you every one for the welcome,
This comment is interesting, and I am open to talking more about that, but probably it is a different topic from introductions, Here, or near where I live,(about 2 hours) in the city, it is very easy to find VW beetles, used, they are used a lot, parts are easy to find too, they range from older ones, not in very good conditition, but cheap, to some really nice, restored or well maintained, more expensive. I have heard, but do not know if it is correct, that the problem is in the U.S. it is not possible to get them registered butand license plates, I imagine that may vary depending on the state. I had no trouble entering and driving in the U.S. with the Mexican,(Durango) plates, but a mechanic I was talking to told me, if I did want to sell it, I wouldn't be able to transfer the title, etc,. any way , thanks for the welcome, and when I get the chance, or perhaps there all ready is a topic on this ? , if not I will start one,..
