Timing belt 07 Passat.

« on: May 30, 2012, 09:19:26 PM »
My "owners " manual says change the timing belt at 120000.  I'm getting mine done next week at 75k.  Thing is, how long should one wait.  This is the 2.0t.  I broke one on my 91 BMW 325 which, of course required a new head.  Fortunately I was able to do the work myself at home.  I'm not even going to attempt the Vw.  What have others experienced Jin a time line to do the belt?

105k is what we recommend on all of the 2.0t cars. Even the late 1.8ts were 90k.

2.0t belts hold up a lot better than 1.8t belts,  they done look bad at 105 like the 1.8 look bad 20k before they are due
