Missing GL trim piece on my 95 Cabrio

« on: December 05, 2011, 11:31:51 AM »
I realized today that the GL trim piece that goes on the passenger front fender is missing from my 95 Cabrio.

No luck today on eBay and I'm checking Samba next.

If anyone runs across one, I'd appreciate it if you'd let me know or pick it up and I'll happily reimburse you.

Thanks and we hope to see you at the Christmas party.

They are hard to find and when you get one make sure you stick it on with 3m double tape,  i have a friend who can paint it for you, they are about 60-100 at the dealer

I'll keep my eyes open for one the next time I'm at Pull-A-Part.  They are cheap there . . . if you have a lot of other stuff, sometimes they don't even charger for those kinds of emblems.

You also might want to search www.vwvortex.com.
Just a heads up, it is a Samba for water cooled VW's.

Try here:  http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?5400539-FS-MK3-Cabrio-Assorted-Interior-Exterior-Parts

I believe the part number you're looking for is 357-853-688-A-GRU  It was also used on early B3 Passats.  BTW, the "GRU" in the part number means that it comes primed and you would have to get it painted to match the car.

Thanks so much!

I've been ignoring this while we worked on our house last summer and have been standing downhill in a crap storm since November.
Now volleyball is over and we can focus on Myrtle once more.  I'm having problem with that link, but am thrilled you gave me a part number to look for.
Hope to see everyone at the Cruise-In this Friday.

Thanks again!  That was the one I needed.

I was lucky enough to stumble across 2 (painted red) also on eBay for $12.00, so I snagged them immediately.  Isn't it pretty much a rule you always have to have at least one spare of everything on these?   ;D

Thanks for looking again.  If I hadnt found those, I would have jumped on that one.
