OK,
now that the fans are working and the compressor is compressing, I took a reading on my Pressures and they seemed to be good on the AC low side but NO cool air is comming out.
I mean NOOOOO cool air is coming out... It is blowing what ever ambiant is outside.
I put the system on Auto it goes to 72* and medium fan speed, AC vents are ambient. (I have a vent thermostat)  I can max out the fan speed and lowest temp and NADA...

Any advice?  It is getting hot outside and I need to spend the monies on the kids Swimming Team (Tigersharks) this summer.
It almost seems like there is a flap or something that is supposed to open to let the cold air in that isn't opening...  The other day the temp was 110* inside when I opened it up, but the air blowing in was 95* through the vents, Temp on climatronic was showing 90* outside.  The center guage was all nice and Blacked out because of the heat... (any way to fix that, my passat also does this when the temp is over 75-80*).
Any way as before any help is appreciated.
Car is a blast to drive but is black on black and has leather seats..(imagine sound of celethane pulling off of roll) that is the sound I make when I get out of this car.

You need to get the correct amount of freon in,  what are the high side pressures? I assume the Ac clutch is engaging on the compressor?

Sounds like you need to check the faults on the Climatronic.  It may be something as simple as re-doing basic settings on the flaps.  It's also possible that one of the flap motors has gone bad.

When you turn the A/C on does the low side line get cold?

I am thinking I just need to invest in an AC manifold set and see what is going on with the upper and lower pressures.
As far as I remember, the line isn't getting cold.
I haven't looked specifically at it, but I do not remember any coolness when prodding around under the hood the other day testing the pressures.
The compressor is engaging and I can see the low pressure gauge drop from 100+ PSI with no compressor going to ~35 - 45 PSI with the compressor going on the low side.
No weird noises or any thing from the compressor either.
Thanks again for all the info.  If I have to take it in I'm not opposed to doing that, but want to try all the easy stuff first.
I have a friend at work with a 2002 GTI 1.8t and he has the cables and the computer to check for specific VW codes... I cannot remember what it's called, but it is the good one. Are there codes specific to the climatronic?
Thanks.

You can get codes fro
The module,  I have a set of gauges if you want to check the pressures and I have a vacuum pump if you want to go that route

35 to 40 PSI sounds good on the low side, what's the high side at?  You should be seeing at least 150 on a hot day.  Have you checked the refrigerant level in it?

I assume you mean Vag-Com?  If so, hook it up, check the faults and let me know what you get.  Also, if you've got it hooked up, go ahead and run basic settings on the Climatronic.  Go into the control module, go to basic settings, group 0 is the one you want, then let it run.  This will re-zero all the flap motors and once that's done retry your A/C.

Yep, he has the Vag-Com.  I'll parlay the info to him, he is going to stop by after work one day next week and run the checks, I'm also going to have him Re-alight the throttle body on the 2004 Passat 1.8T wagon, he said it needed to be done every so often to improve gas mileage.

Fellas, I am very thankful for the help thus far, these cars are a little different from the aircooled stuff.

Travis, if your serious about the manifold use, I'd like to see what is going on on the high side.
When could we meet up?
I'm off next week, KC

Throttle body alignment to improve gas mileage?  That's a new one on me.  I'm curious to see if it works.

That must be some that left-over BS from when people were told their Electronic fuel cars were going to stop dead when it turned the year 2000.  Somebody always has a Plan for a scam.

I'm hoping it will, When I drive the Passat Wagon I get ~26 MPG (1/2 interstate).
When the wifey drives it, it dives to ~22 mpg (stop and go in town...) so any little bit helps...
