Airbag light

« on: May 27, 2011, 03:39:26 PM »
I have a 2004 VW Beetle and the airbag light recently came on. I planned on taking it to the dealership, but wanted to know if anyone else has had this problem and if there is a quick or cheap fix. Its $79 dollars at the dealership just to diagnose the problem.

Thanks!

no quick fix, most common is the seat belt latch,  the dealer has them instock alot of times,  but the dealership is the only one that can diag it unless you know someone with an aftermarket scantool specificly for vw car like vag com or assumacher.  request me at the dealer and i will go easy on you

Another (non-dealer) option is my buddy Sal. He works on VWs and has a VAG-COM scan tool. (423) 421-1496 if you call tell him I sent you (Russ). Also, welcome to our club forums.
