2001 cabrio top coming apart

the seam on my cabrio is coming apart on the back off the top, it goes from on side to the other and looks like it was heat seamed, got one estimate over the phone for repair at 400, saw new tops from 170 to 250, looking for an easier repair

I assume it is vinyl. Grants told me if the original top on my car hadn't torn they would have used heat to separate the seam, then re-seal it and also sew the seam for extra security.

Sadly, I had a tear, so had to replace the whole thing.

duct tape wont work, trust me!

it is cloth, i read on some forums using glue, i am trying that, i had an estimate to take the top off and sew it for 400, i really want to take the car on a tripm the glueing was way more difficult than i thought, if i did not ruin it futher i may take it off muself and have someone sew it

There is a guy named Slatton on Ringgold Rd down from the tunnel who sews canvas. He's helped us before with our pop up and was very inexpensive but good. I would always recommend him for a job like that.
