I found this video to explain the valve adjustment process. The actual adjustment isn't as tricky as finding and marking top dead center and rotating the engine to the next position. There are short cuts to adjust the valves with fewer turns of the engine, but learn the basics first!
Also, don't forget that the timing light should be applied after the valves are check and the engine has warmed up. 32degrees Before top dead center at full advance (whatever RPMs you want to dispute that it happens at).

I also attached the pulley mark chart to help you, or anyone else, identify which pulley they have and what those marks mean.
