Complete newbie, 1970 Beetle

« on: January 09, 2011, 03:26:54 PM »
Well, after years of playing "Punchbug" with my kids being my only association with VW, I went and bought me a 1970 Beetle on eBay.  I'll snoop around and try to find some answers here.

Front apron and fenders are bent up and bumpers need replaced along with the rear decklid.  The floor and heater channels are in great shape though and runs great.  It's got a 1600 Dual Port in it.  I haven't run the engine serial number yet to see how new it is.

I bought it and drove it home 90 miles.  It'll be my semi daily driver and toy.

I had to show that video to my wife the other day lol.  She thought I was crazy because I left my daily driver (Crew Cab Dually Diesel) at work in favor of using the bug in the snow.
