1969 Baha

« on: August 29, 2011, 09:14:05 PM »
Hey all. I live in Tracy City, Tn. I bought my son a 69 several years ago because he don't like the 4x4 stuff that and Motorcylce stuff like me. He's only 14 now and was 8 when I got it so I wanted to get something we could both relate with. I started only to do minimum repair to get back rolling again and the next thing I knew I had the body off frame and completly disasimbled. I done alot of work the 1st 6 months and then started back on my junk. I'm about ready to start back on this project again so I will have some questions and will be posting a build thread. We have attended all the bugapalooza events for the last 5 or 6 years only as spectators. Maybe by next year I can have it at the show.

Welcome aboard!  My first VW was a father-son project (a 71 Beetle).  I ended up buying 3 parts cars to put it back together, then found a complete 74 Super Beetle that just needed cosmetic work.  My son ended up driving the Super and I pieced together one of the parts cars (a 69 Beetle) for myself.  Then one day I started counting and I had 20 old VWs in the back yard.  I still haven't figured out how that happened!   ;D
