It had been parked for years when I first saw it. The new owner had traded an old junk truck for it. He coudn't get the starter to turn . . . I'm kind'a slow, but it didn't take me long to figure out that the engine was locked up. Not just locked up, I mean LOCKED UP! TIGHT! So tight that I couldn't budge it with a huge pipe wrench and 4 foot cheater pipe.
The new owner pulled the plugs and filled the cylinders with Marvel Mystory Oil and said he would let it soak overnight and it would be fine. It was all I could do to get out of his driveway before I cracked up laughing! I went over the next day and the engine was purring like a happy kitten! No knocks or rattles, no smoke, no oil leaks . . . no hesitation, no flat spots . . . I 'bout fell over. Then I drove it. I had to pop up the "hood" and double check to make sure that was a 36 horse engine still back there! I don't think I've ever seen a little engine that ran so strong. I would have liked to have gotten my hands on it, but he wanted to restore it . . . then the next thing I knew he had sold it . . . cheap. :x
