I use the little bullit motorcycle lights from JC Whitney. Only about $10 for a pair. Come with red and amber lenses.

cut the drivers rotted floor pan out, filled the trans shifter shaft off where it looked like someone had dropped it and hooked the shift linkage up, no shifty, not good

Undo the coupler at the trans.  Pull the shift rod out of your way as much as you can, and get a pair of vise grips on the selector.  If it moves around fine, the rod may be bent / tweaked.  If you have no movement in the selector arm, then it may be bound up/ or broken inside the nose cone.  That, or there is another problem inside the case, but I kinda doubt that.  Either way, If that's the case, out comes the tranny again....  :(

Does the selector shaft ( in the nose cone) move at all ?   This is what Rick is talking about doing with the vice grips. Its hard to ID which rod or which shifter you are talking about. Some people have all kinds of names for parts like a dololly, thingofagig, whatchacallit. More info please.

i am talking about the part in the trans,  i had to fill the connecter coming out of the nose cone because it looked like it had beed dropped on the ground and mushroom, but there was no evidence that the trans had been out of the car, so i am wondering if some one was smacking it with a hammer

Right name please. the connector thing you are talking about is the shift Selector shaft. If that shaft was that beat up that bad is not a good thing. The tranney could be lock in  two gears, selector could be badly bent or broken inside the nose cone, Broken shift fork,(internal) and then some Dude took a hammer to it thinking it would free it up. The bottom line is the tranney has to come out and take the cone off and see what happened if you can. This a IRS tranny right ?

I don't know for sure, but there was talk of a '65, '66 and a '67 on the first page and a picture a few pages back looks like lots of camber. I think its a swing axle, but not sure.

There was an error while liking
