Drove about 250 miles this weekend to Huntsville to the Hunstville Hamfest and camped at the rocket center's RV park with Matthew and Russ. It was a nice little trip until I came back and was getting off the exit at Germantown and heard crunching clanking a popping. CV. I made it another 30 feet and pulled over. All of the bolts had backed out and one sheared off. I got 2 started and got out of the road. Made it to my dads office on Germantown and got two more in and drove home.

I still don't think I'll get the trophy...  ;D

It was a 15 minute slow down that required no walking or having someone bring me anything. And I drove home. I'm safe

I was right across the road from a gas station.  Ran out sitting at the light.  I had a gas can with me . . . just had to walk across the street, get a gallon of gas and walk back.  No parts broke or fell off (for a change).

No, I think buses are specific, unfortunately.

I really just need the flange washers. I imagine that's why mine broke off. It's the only joint that didn't have them

Doubtful. The CVs are larger and the holes are still evenly spaced. I ended up going over to my parents house where I had pulled the transmission out of Penelope years ago. The rebuilt CV axles were sitting there with plastic bags over each end. I just brought one home to use. I did the weld a washer to the broken bolt and weld a nut to the washer trick. Turned right out.

I even put a new drum on. I need to replace the other side too but not tonight...

If you could bring the axle shaft by, Nick, I might have some... have to dig around, but I used to have quite a few of both (two-hole washer plates and the bolts)

I got it patched up for the time being. I will be looking soon though. I thought the boot kits I bought would have it. I will keep my eyes peeled this weekend at the swap meet and if not, I'll give you a shout! Thanks man!
