I take it that the floor of the bed is one big piece of added on sheet metal ?   I wonder what is under there ?    No side boards or tailgate?

wow how funny this is on here cause i actually looked at this when i was in chattanooga... it's got some bad rust in the frame... it had a REALLY nice dash with the block off plate (my fav part of the whole truck was the dash). a nasty oil leak... lots of rust in the body... a cool shift extender... more red primer than is in these pics... no front bumper, rear bumper has been repainted white.. bondo that was never sanded down... etc etc...

if i told you the story of how we found this truck you'd laugh

here is the frame:

i dont know what that pipe is running down the center of the truck either but i dont think that is factory

there was a solid looking bug under a tarp in the yard that needed a front clip and a 45mph speed limit sign in the tree next to it...

lol crazy adventures in chattanooga...

Sorry to tell you,but the pipe running down the center(if we are talking about the same pipe) is factory unless the original rusted away and someone replaced it with something like PVC. This how heat (ha !) gets from the engine to the cab. All buses/Kombi,campers, P.U. in the U.S. came with heat (HA ! Thats a joke)  You should have the same pipe on your "Westy" unless it has already rusted away. Check it out.

Scott, I will let you have my Allison for the small sum of  $25,000. No extra charge for the patina incrusted floor pans.

No thanks bugtech I would have to sell my guitar for $50000 just to finish it.

I sat and wrote a whole rant on this but I think I'll save it for a better use later.
Just makes me sick, enjoy vw goldminers.
Pity I actually thought of going to check out the Single cab.I'll force myself not to.

I know it looks out of place. I don't know why VW even bothered to put engine heat on those vans . They knew it wasn't going to warm up anything in cold weather. Thats why they installed the gas heater. If you took care of them they worked great.

He will probley have this thing a while for that price but you can't never tell somebody mite just pay that for it people can pick it to death but when was the last time you seen one for sale in this area even on the samba some of them are over sea's for a lot more money than what he is ASKING for this one (think about it). I have drove the truck and all in all it's a pretty good truck yes it needs some work but when was the last time you bought a 1966 model vehicle that didn't need work.
