Shriner wreck

Ck this out  on  www.timesfreepress.com for a vidio
This Bozo just pulled out of formation , cross over 2 lanes and drove right into the crowd. This Moron said the yellow buggy was backing up causing him to run into him and lose control. Look at the clip and you will see that the yellow buggy was moving forward and away from the red buggy  not backwards. Who cares which way the yellow buggy was moving. Why did this Fool even head for that side of the street and the crowd at the speed he was going. He drove straight into the crowd. It looks like he couldn't have stopped even if the yellow buggy wasn't even there.
If it had been my family that got run down by this Num-nut, He and the Shriners would be talking to my lawyer about now.
The police didn't even site him for anything. Thats discusting. If any of us had driven our cars like that, we would be under the jail.
I still say it was politics that kept this Moron out of jail. Why else would it take so long to inform the public.  What do you think ?

   It looks to me like the yellow car probably saved some lives by taking a little speed out of the out-of-control red buggy just before it went into the crowd!

I do not agree with you.

I don't know what went wrong or why, but those guys do parades and shows all the time. It is something they take pride in and want to do the best they can. It is a show and yes something went wrong. I have no doubt that the driver of that buggy or any shriner would never do anything intentionally to harm anyone much less a child and her mother.  I would think that grief is much worse than any charges.

Well of course the buggy driver didn't do it on purpose. I'm just curious why he jumped out of formation and headed torward the crowd at speed  from across the street and then said the yellow buggy parked at the curb less than, lets say 5-6 feet from the crowd,  backed up in front of him when the vidio showed just the opposite. The red buggy could not have stopped if he wanted to even if the yellow buggy wasn't even in the same county. If the driver of the red buggy had just "fessed' up that he had a "short circuit" in judgement instead of blaming the yellow buggy, It would have been a little easier to accept that accidents do happen . I'm sure that the driver feels terrible about it now.  I feel sure that we will never know what really happened .The city officals are  going to keep their collective mouths shut for fear of "ticking" the Shriners off and taking their "Big Bucks" convention somewhere else. I would almost make book on that. If it had been my family that got mowed down ,I would at least want to know the whole story.
"Runner", if you are at ease with it, so be it. Enough said

Yeah, I'm positive the guy driving the buggy didn't run into the crowd on purpose!  I work with video on my job and, while I'm no expert, I do know that the same scene videoed from two different angles can show VERY different things . . . and from the video, we only see one angle.  If that is the only video of the accident, no one may ever really know for sure exactly what happened.

As for why he said the yellow buggy was backing up . . . it happened so fast he, like everyone else that was there, only had a split second to see what happened.  If he was sliding sideways towards the yellow buggy (as it looks like he was in the video), from his point of view, his eyes and brain may have "seen" the yellow buggy backing up, even though it wasn't.

Bottom line here is, it's too bad anyone got hurt . . . but thank God no one got killed.  And even if the accident was 110% driver error, it was 110% unintentional . . . and it shouldn't overshadow all of the good work that the Shriner's do.
