Bullet turns had a number of years to play with. How about little round tail lights ? :?:

OK, David...for the record, I may be crazy, but this one is all him....
I think the holes are still there where the little round taillights go, but there were a bunch more holes.......

Of course it has more holes.  Just look at all the options for tail lights. How about '67 Cougar ,you know the ones that the turn signals kind'a twinkle out in the direction you were trying to turn if only the front wheels would keep up with the 1/2 turn of free play in the steering wheel.
I think Scott would prefer the term "Flow through ventilation" other than calling them just holes. Besides they are good for venting all the exhaust and oil smoke that comes through the heater vents. I just love to mention  HEAT and OLD TYPE-2's in the same breath
As much as I hate to say it,   You gott'a love those old vans.  If it wasn't for those old vans, what in the world would all those soccer Moms haul all their little" Snotty Nose Rug Rats" to the game in ?   VW started it all

I was going to guess '58.  Does it still have its split-case tranny ?   How 'bout the 36hp engine.  Long gone I guess.  To bad :(

Not sure on the total mods made by previous owners. It was found in the woods in Virginia.  Probably take a life time to restore this beast and a small fortune.
