Brand new in the country, and already gonna get kicked out of the neighborhood for messing up the driveway....  ::)

Nice to have you here, glad to see you've found a little project to keep you busy.   8)

Translation please: Restauration vom siebziger Karmann Ghia Coupe nach deutscher Art

I  noticed that Atlanta East Pull a part has a 1970 Karmann Ghia... Don't know what the body is like, but if you take a battery powered saws all, you might be able to cut out the sheet metal. There is no where to plug tools in and they won't let you take a torch in. You might be able to find some decent heater channels, if the junk one isn't too rusted.

Well, I'm not good with German, but I'd guess it's "Restoration of seventies Karmann Ghia Coupe German-style"

That really wasn't that hard to figure out. A lot of English words have German roots, so if it looks and sounds close to an English word, it probably is.  So, the first word is obviously Restoration.  Vom, I'm not sure, but I think I heard someone say that von means from . . . so it's probaby something along those lines . . . from, of, etc.  sieziger . . . not a clue . . . yet.  Karmann Ghia Coupe . . . same in both languges.  Then we have "nach deutscher Art" The word German is going to be in there somewhere.  So . . .  "Restoration (from or of) __________ Karmann Ghia Coupe (__?__ German __?___)."  Now, let's see . . . it's a 1970 . . . siebziger looks and sounds more like seventy or seventies.  So "Restoration of seventies Karmann Ghia Coupe (__?__ German __?__)."  I just took a stab in the dark that since Eike is from Germany and he's doing the restoration . . . and Art can sometimes be interchanged with style, I guessed that "nach deutscher Art" meant he was doing the restoration German-style.
So, how close did I get?

OK, since nobody's going to bite on that one, I'll go ahead and admit it . . . I just used Google's translation feature . . . although I really did figure out "Restoration" and "Karmann Ghia Coupe" on my own!   ;D

Clamp those fuel lines. Don't wanna see the nice motor go up in smoke.

Done!

And now it drives, stops, blinks and lights up. First step is done... a lot to come, though
