Poor ole bus

« on: March 24, 2008, 07:41:09 PM »
A guy at work sent me this ..  SC

This past Saturday I got to paddle a section of the Cartecay River in Ellijay that I havent done in a long
time due to the drought.... a long time ago a friend of mine showed me an old bus in the
woods on river left.  Every once in a while, I would see if it was still there.... sometimes in was on one
of its sides and then sometimes it was upright.  Floods would move it around in the woods every so often.

I have known of this thing for about 15 years now but never took any pictures of it until this weekend.

wowwww. Hard to imagine it was once shiny, sitting on the lot of a dealership-the pride of the first owners as they drove away in their new shiny bus! So sad-wait a minute-someone cut the rear wheel wells!!!

Bastards!

The bus probably crawled into the woods one dark night to die of shame! On the way shedding it's Kidney-bean mags and Mickey Thompson RWL balloon tires. Letting go of the shag carpeting in one wet, smelly glob in the first flood  that presented an opportunity. Letting the crows have their way with the raccoon tail tied to the CB antenna. Frost mercifully flaking off the mural painted on the flanks by owners who were presently "one toke over the line".

Rust in peace, friend!!!

Anthony

PS- Hell, Zen, don't you have just a little more space in your back yard???

Might be fun, but maybe we need to send in S.C. "World Renound Purveyor of All Things Rusty" and Protector of The Order of Patina, to check this out seeing how he knows where it is resting and maybe doesn't have to fear of being accosted by some great flapping thing . What do you think ?

By the looks of things they gave him a four shoots to the head to either make sure he was dead or to put him out of his misery.

Zen,  I'll ask my buddy to spray the bolts on the front bumper with wd40 next time he kayaks there,  so it will come off easy for you.  SC
