Our '72 Westy

« on: March 25, 2007, 09:16:39 PM »
Kim and I just got a 1972 Westy.  Its in really good shape with all of the camper interior in great shape as well, including the stool! Really the only thing missing from the interior is the table on the spice rack. It has been sitting in a very distance relative's yard for a little while and we got the bus for a pretty good deal as well. It is going to need a new pop-up canvas and some seals. It doesn't run at the moment but it might end up with a type 1 engine instead of its currently messed up type 4 but that is still to be decised upon.  I spent yestday scrubbing the outside. Today we took out the interior to take up the vinyl floor which was bad and to clean underneath it while also cleaning the seats as well. Well here are some of its first pictures after it was cleaned.

More pictures to come.

I think they call it "Barfscotch. It kind goes along with " Greyhound Bus Sta. bathroom green".  You have to be careful with the green that they don't get lost in the Kudzu.

I think that the Retired Bug Tech is hung up on that Kudzu stuff.

Here's some more pictures from that same day. The floor was in surprisingly good shape after taking up that bad vinyl and wet wood which was underneath it. I believe the actual color is Sierra Yellow. We'll decide on the engine after it is taken out to see what the actual damage to it is.

Yeah from those paper towels back toward the camera view point was what was in the bus, not including the grey containers which are trophy rods.

That bus in the background is Kyle's '73 Automatic Rustfalia.
