It hit a concrete retaining wall head first while sliding sideways at about 45-50 mph the guy that was behined me said it bounced like a basket ball of the wall and that all four tires came off the ground.  It still runs and drives and holds the road stright but the front frame horns and the radiator core support are pulled to the left a few inches.

crunched front end on a bug? Might as well just go ahead and baja it!

that's a bummer about the introduction to the concrete wall. Did the airbags go off or anything?

I would appreciate it if you would do stupid crap like that while there are no other people on the road around you to be a witness.

BTW, the Subaru handles great in the snow, drifts well, and is quite a joy. And i didn't have to spend a dime changing anything.  And, did i mention that all 4 wheels are throwing up snow......  :P

40 to 50 mph on ice ? one concrete wall ?  Yeah  thats about right ::) ::)
Hey Rick, The Volvo doesn't throw snow with 4 wheels. It doesn't throw snow with 2 wheels. Matter of fact it isn't throwing anything because I don't know which lump in the yard the Volvo lurks.  ;D ;D

Yee....  :D :D

I have been out in the Subie having lots of fun, but Amanda's Jetta hasn't left the driveway since sunday.  I am pretty sure it's hers that is, cause there is a bit of silver and a VW emblem still visible.   ;)

Had the frame strightened today at abra auto body next door. They did a good job you can't even tell that it was bent. Now I just need to get the front bumper cover and hood hinges/latch and both head lamps/buckets

Glad to see it is being fixed...
Does VW make an AWD system that could be put under the beetle?
That would be COOL.

I guess if you had alot of time on your hands and the ability to weld/fabricate you could use a Audi TT as a doner car. But I think that it would be way more trouble than it's worth.

OR---- Just buy a 4-wheel drive Something .Or just stay inside and watch " Learn How to Drive in Ice and Snow "  on Speed Channel. You might find out about the operation of the pedal on the right.  ;D ;D
