From what he was saying yesterday, I think he is planning on keeping pretty much original and stock . . . at least for now.   8)

There is nothing wrong with lowering,  I've done nothing that can't be easily undone.  It's cutting dashes for stereo's and other permanent modifications that make me cringe.

Hey, Its your coal truck. You can put roller skates under it if want to. I just hate it when someone takes a car that is nice and original as Justin's and starts messing with it. I had a friend that bought a '32 5 window Ford coupe at a estate sale that had been in the family since new. All original paint,rims,flat-head V8 with 40,000 something miles. It was worth about $  25,000 at that time. He took it home and made a $ 5,000 Hot rod out of it. Made me sick.
Just dropping the front end down is just the start of things. Later you will be looking for a set of big ass rims/tires, Asphalt curling Turbo engine, de-chroming, One piece windows and a Andy Warhol paint job. If you want to do something like that, buy a P.O.S. car that has one wheel at Siskins front door and has no hope of returning to its former glory. Can you say Amen!!!
All you "whipper-Snappers" will figure that out someday
Can you just see Jay Leno taking one of his Duseingberg(?) SJ's, dropping the front end down and putting in a small block Chey

Nice score :) Where did it come from?

I got my Thing the other day... it's in nowhere near a nice condition... but it's actually pretty solid! It will be having a probably complete restoration and I am guess at least a year before I can drive it... some PO down the line (i don't know could have been the one i bought it from) hacked it pretty bad :( but it was well worth what i paid for it!

Hey Bugthug I called Justin Jason the other day too. Justin have you ever thought of changing your name to Jason? Seems like it would be easier for some of us

I don't believe in the destruction of classic cars,  some accessories and "changable" mods are ok,  I had a cal look 72 when i was 16,  that i built from the ground up, i've grown up a little bit and perfer the classic look.

I see David's point completely.  I work in a biz that handles brass era cars up to present day.  I have seen the rarest of rare and the ones that should not be touched.  But, on the other hand, if someone spends their money on it and they want to hack it up, they can.  We might not like it, but at the same time it is their vehicle.

Hey Ret.Bugtech, I don't know how long ago the '32 Ford story happened but you couldn't touch true factory '32 frame rails for $5,000.00 now. A true, "barn-find",  low mileage '32 you describe would now go for around $100,000.00! I think there's also now a law against cutting on a '32 Ford...if there's not, there should be.

I do pretty much want to keep her kinda close to Orig.  It needs a repaint and some bodywork.  The engine runs awesome!  the only con is that is does have endplay :(   The really cool accessory..ie..bamboo tray is now gone.  the guy i bought it from wanted to keep.  I am going to have the seats restitched but not replaced.  floor pans are in great condition.  Gonna have to see Coker about a nice set of wide whitewalls.  Bumpers could use a good rechroming.  maybe next year a body off will be do-able.  I am thinking two-tone.  i dunno.  I am going to enjoy it for now.    I cant believe how damn expensive accessories are.  DONT WORRY DAVID  No Plans to SLAM.  MY ratty ass superbeetle could use a GERMAN-LOOK makover though.

If you two tone it I'll kick you in the nads! I swear it.
Go for the og look on wide whites. If you must repaint it get a birth certificate and repaint it to the original color. Painting it some goofy 2 tone scheme is a sure fire way to lower the value of an oval.
But hey it's your car so paint pink if ya want.

You can paint it pink if you want but you'll still get a kick in the nads.

Justin, Like Bugnut said, Get a birth certificate before you do anything.

The '32 Ford thing happened in '72 and came from Knoxville. I don't know what ever happened to it. The custom work on the car was excellent but------------????????
