pitchures hide a lot the finder is its werst problem though.  paint is faded  but looks like a poore job to start with but the car is solid and runs all the lights work except the back up.  I do nead the thing that goes under the trunk lid for the fresh air that ties into the vent hoses

Are you talking about the" rain tray" ? It doesn't connect to anything except two little drain hoses on each side. I belive '70 model is the only year that tray was used.

Alan, For some reason I thought you were talking about the "rain guard" on the rear deck lid. I'll check with Jim L . and see if he has the correct air box for the front. Do you need the 2  plastic elbows that goes from the box to the windshield defrost vents?

Hey Alan,

Great looking bug.  Do you still have the Allison?   Would you mind e mailing me your phone number to volvofixer2950@yahoo.com.  I need to ask you something.  (I am the fellow that knows all about your Allison)  Incidently, I have attached a couple of pictures of your buggy that might interest you.

Regards,

Fred (volvofixer)

Wrecked June 1970 in Clayton, GA. during Shriner Parade.

Original owner, July 1970 at Daytona Beach Fla.  With the Allison body you have today. We replaced the body and rebuilt the whole buggy in less than a month!  My original Blue Allison in the background.

I bet that smarted.  By the looks of the steering wheel it must have taken  a heck of a lick.   How in the world could you do that much damage in a parade ?

Actually they were only going a few mph.  A drunk driver ran into them from a side street.  The driver of the buggy (Wayne) was only bruised but the passenger's head went through the windshield severing nerves in his face and even now Jim (the passenger) does not have control of the right side of his face.  When he wrinkles his brow...he only wrinkles on the left side.  Otherwise he is fine.
