It's o.k.....
Everybody confuses early supers. They assume that all of the super beetles had the big padded dash and curved windshields. For 1971-72 they had a flat windshield, and the flat dash to go with it, just like a standard. The big tip off to me was the chubby nose, like i told ya.

I always tell people, i don't car what the seller says, open the trunk and look in. If the spare tire stands up, it's a standard. If it lays flat, it's a super.

My first beetle was a green '72 Super. Fun car, and i drove the hell out of it in my college days.
