Aaron, I don't remember if I've mentioned it before, but one thing you don't want to overlook when you're "de-shaking" your super . . . Make sure your wheels are round and don't have any run-out. We fought the shakes on my son's '74 and never got the shakes fully cured till I got some aftermarket wheels in a trade and put them on it. That made such a differance, I checked the old wheels and found one of them had a warped place on the inner rim and the rim didn't run true with the center. It wasn't "bad" . . . in fact I put the old wheel and tire on the back of a standard Beetle and never noticed anything. Super front ends are "super" sensitive to any imperfections in the ballance or trueness of the front wheels/tires. But, once you get 'em right, they handle great!
