Herbie

« on: October 03, 2005, 02:45:07 PM »
After much thought and a ton of aggrivation from this stuborn little car I decided to name it Herbie. Not alot of choice either since my son says so.
I don't care what aint right I know I know is my answer. It's my 67 so I know it isn't perfect but kids don't seem to care either.

The pictures show you've done a good job on him.

That makes THREE "Herbies" we have in the club now.

Thanks, I figured I would catch alot of flak from some folks, it's not correct in 100 different ways but it's a fun little thing until I do the complete resto.

So you are not accurate. It still looks good to me. How do you think I will feel when Reinhart the faux Type 82e hits the road. I will not be able to fool any military VW dude who knows his stuff within 100 yards. Its just plain fun to do things like this other than joining the 1000's of folks building customs/hot rods or trailer queens that most of the time they won't or couldn't drive on the street. What do you think ?

I totaly agree. Althoght i don't consider Herbie as original as a kdf by far.
Both are done out of fun. Someday I'll get around to restoring it and herbie will be gone but for now my son is in the Herbie phase and he likes it and that's all that matters to me.
