Did I mention I got a new VW?

i just called mid america cause the bra i ordered for my car (full bra for 68-77 std beetle)  was actually a half bra for a 67 down... the girl that answered the phone for some reason asked the year of my car... so i had to try and explain it was a 98 mexibeetle... this thoroughly confused her and she tried to get me a new beetle bra... after 8 min of explaining it is an old beetle and i just needed the part that i ordered... i **think** she is sending me the right thing... i wonder when the newness of explaining its NOT a new beetle will wear off and become annoying

The problem I think is the word NEW.   Everytime I hear the phrase NEW BEETLE, I think of the H-2o model.  I have never heard the term NEW BUG used for the water-cooled Beetle. This can get someone confused if they are not "on the ball". I quess we will just have to explain a little more clearly to the person on the other end of the line what we are dealing with. Its sort of like calling the Ford dealer: "I need a part for a Ford"  Well thats nice. Whats it for, Pinto,LTD, Mustang, Model and year, Was it made in the U.S. or India , Is the dash board blue or brown ?   Been there done that when I was in the business.
Sometimes it was like "pulling teeth" trying to get the right information.

no it's like pulling teeth trying to get the person on the other end to understand... i clearly stated to her ten times to think of it as a 68 (i should have just told her that's what it was) and said it was aircooled, and mexican and NOT a new beetle... she just didn't get it... believe me... i know how to describe what i need... not to mention i had to tell her FIVE TIMES that i just needed the exact part that i ordered, that it was the wrong thing in the right box

thats what i like about my parts store :) they know what i need... hell i can just call them and say i need a part for my bus and they know what year :)

if it's not too rainy tomorrow with alberto, i might go by the dealer and ask them for an owners manual for a 98 beetle... i really do need one... but i really doubt they will bother to try and get me one :(

Damn VW Girl. That's nice.I thought you dealt in old bugs and buses. You must have gone crazy and bit the bullit.I sure wish these had air conditioning in them.Yours might but I am spoiled and have to have something that has more room and can pull a trailer and has air for a daily driver. But I think it would be fun to have one for a second car. What ever happened to those vw's called the "Sun Bug?"Boy It sure would be nice to have one for the gas mileage.I have to have a tanker truck follow me around. If you would email me and let me know what one of these mexican bug's cost now.Thanks.

I would also like to have a bus.I know the 21 window or is it 23 window would be out of site to get one fixed up.My dad had one when we were growing up.He had bought a new one as a company vehicle. He liked it so well he bought three more super beetles as company cars.I finally ended up with the yellow one.71 model.Went everywhere in it.Boy it was great to fill it up for around 5 dollars.Boy those day's will never be back. When I tell my kids about this they think I am making it all up.

Do you have any earthly idea how many VW toys can be bought for $699?????  And to think you're thinking about spending that kind of money on a computer TV screen.

Don't let these guys fool you. I spend money on REAL VW stuff also. I've got a bunch of small toys but I have a bunch of big toys, too.

OK VWGirl, it's OK for you to be buying up all the VWs in FL, and if you pick one up on a trip up north occationally, that's OK too . . . but leave TN and GA alone!  There aren't enough VWs to go around here as it is.  :-x Next thing you know, you'll be posting pictures of the Filmore toys you picked up at Wally World when you were passing through Chattanooga . . .

By the way, that's a nice looking Vanagon!  If you want a manual for a Mexican Beetle, contact the guy who owns BeetleMex . . . I think the web site is http://www.btlmex.com.  They used to sell converted Mexibeetles, but after production of the air-cooled Beetles stopped they started selling parts.

I didn't say I BOUGHT the vanagon... geez... and it's a FL car... I just happened to get a call while I was in GA and said "hey do you want this vanagon" I said "hell yeah" cause it looks sweet :) [but needs an engine].

Last free car I got I gave away to the psycho ex that was at funfest... that was a dumb move... i am keeping the free cars from now on! Oh wait... I told my mom she could have the vanagon... but that's just so I can say it's mine and drive it every now and then

Oh and did I mention that mexi beetle got me 43+ MPG on this last tank?  :D I actually left the gas pump smiling!!!!

I do need a manual for it... I will have to contact them. Thanks :)

If the "water-boxer Vanagon needs a engine ,you need to talk to Kile about replacing that Sorry-Ass  gas engine with a Turbo Diesel and make a real van out of it, that is if you are going to keep it.
