NEWS FLASH
This was good.I'm still laughing my A-- off and I don't have much left to go.

Information coming in to the news center reports a heavily armed team of state and federal officers were seen rushing a red Ford pickup in the parking lot of Shoneys off Hwy 52 this morning. It is our understanding that this involved some type of "hostage situation."

We have just learned that the "hostage situation" is over and the "Ivory Shifter Knob" has been turned over to the owners. The person taken down in this situation was identified only as "VW Herb" who is described as a quiet mild mannered man who hears voices in his head. No shots were fired and there were no injuries in this situation. A spokesperson for the "VW Parts Recovery Police" said this case has been under investigation for close to a year now and the suspect has been under close surveillence. Information was received by the task force last night of this meeting in which the owner agreed to meet with the suspect to pay a ransom, described as being a free meal at the "Breakfast Bar" for the release of the "Ivory Shifter Knob." A member of the task force, who refused to be identified for security reasons, said that they take the holding of "vintage VW parts" for ransom seriously and take all measures to recover the items. The owner(s)  who requested their identity be kept secret asked that there be no charges pressed on the suspect due to the delusional state of mind of the suspect. As a side note, after the take down and recovery the suspect was indeed paid the ransom of a free meal at the "Breakfast Bar" by the owners. The owners said that they were appreciative that the suspect did not harm the "Ivory Shifter Knob" or attempt to sell it on the Samba.

Lord I am spending too much time at work. It is bad when you have to spend time writing stories for amusement!!!!

Thanks "VW Herb" for the good fellowship this morning.......

Finally took the time to get some good pictures of the car. Check out the custom shifter knob I had made by "Kool Knobs". This man does great work and is very reasonable. I sent him 1/4 ounces of the paint we used on the car and a volkswagen hat pin and he mixed the paint with the ivory and set the pin in the top center of the knob. It looks great!!!!

More!!! I really liked the way the paint settled through the ivory in the knob. The copper paint was thinner so it settled out through the ivory as it set up.

Moe, That little Beast is just Stuning. If it drives and runs half as good as it looks , you have a winner. WOW !  I sure would like to see it in the flesh. Do you think that might ever happen someday ?

Bows before the Godfather and kisses his ring.

Thank you oh mighty Godfather for the words of praise. I would really like for you to see it in person too. My problem is getting off from work so I can come to a meeting or do a show.

I am planning on being at the show in Decatur Alabama on July 22-23. I am going to get my son in law, who got us into the VW scene to come with me if he will. I have started cleaning up all the show display stuff that has been packed up since the last show I did in 2003 at Stevenson. If I do make it maybe you will be able to get by one of the days and scope it out. The offer of you taking the car for a spin still stands David.

65, the pinstripes were done by Mr Artistic from Bowdon Ga. He used to work out of the truck stop in Temple Ga. He actually did all this stuff with the car on the trailer. It was awesome to watch this man work. Talking about steady hands!!! When he first picked out the colors we were not too sure. However the pictures tell the story, he did great. I will see if his phone number is still good and if not I will try to find him for you. We actually carried back our Cyber Green New Beetle we had then and he put flames on the hood, trunk, on the doors inside etc. Looked great.

I will look up where we got the pedal. That was back in 2001 and I do good to remember what happened yesterday. As far as the grass? Lime, fertilizer, water, sweat, then repeat process!! LOL

Hey, this is my 284th post. My old badge number from my law enforcement days at Carrollton!!! Sweet
