You might ask who might have one instead of where you could find one. There could be and ivory shift knob lurking just about anywhere.

No, not yet. I think the person responsible for holding said knob hostage is probably letting the new owner sweat just a little.

 The person holding the knob does not have to worry about the sweating part. Remember I do live in the south. Sweat is part of life here!!! If the person "holding" the knob against its will would please set up the criteria for the release of the "knob", the demands will be met. I will not contact the authoritires, (we are the authorities) I am willing to travel as far as Chattanooga to secure the "safe release" of the "knob". Maybe we could enlist a third party, like Zen, to negotiate if needed. If anyone can "get er done" it is Zen. He is the "parts master" as we all know....

:?: If my old memory serves me right, I think I picked it up at one of the places like Quick Trip etc when we stopped to fuel when doing some of the shows in 2001. I drove the car to work about 2 months ago and had it put in the window like that and some *#)!$$*  jerk took it. I have not been able to find another one yet, if I do I will pick up an extra one. I will be happy to send it to you when I do.

NEWS FLASH

Dateline April 13, 2006 08:05 HRS (Eastern Standard Time)

Dalton Georgia

Information coming in to the news center reports a heavily armed team of state and federal officers were seen rushing a red Ford pickup in the parking lot of Shoneys off Hwy 52 this morning. It is our understanding that this involved some type of "hostage situation."

Dateline: April 13, 2006 08:10 HRS (Eastern Standard Time)

Dalton Georgia

We have just learned that the "hostage situation" is over and the "Ivory Shifter Knob" has been turned over to the owners. The person taken down in this situation was identified only as "VW Herb" who is described as a quiet mild mannered man who hears voices in his head. No shots were fired and there were no injuries in this situation. A spokesperson for the "VW Parts Recovery Police" said this case has been under investigation for close to a year now and the suspect has been under close surveillence. Information was received by the task force last night of this meeting in which the owner agreed to meet with the suspect to pay a ransom, described as being a free meal at the "Breakfast Bar" for the release of the "Ivory Shifter Knob." A member of the task force, who refused to be identified for security reasons, said that they take the holding of "vintage VW parts" for ransom seriously and take all measures to recover the items. The owner(s)  who requested their identity be kept secret asked that there be no charges pressed on the suspect due to the delusional state of mind of the suspect. As a side note, after the take down and recovery the suspect was indeed paid the ransom of a free meal at the "Breakfast Bar" by the owners. The owners said that they were appreciative that the suspect did not harm the "Ivory Shifter Knob" or attempt to sell it on the Samba.

Lord I am spending too much time at work. It is bad when you have to spend time writing stories for amusement!!!!

Thanks "VW Herb" for the good fellowship this morning.......

Oh !! What a relief that the "Ivory Knob Caper" is settled and no one was hurt. The only thing I was worring about was the describtion of the driver of the red P.U.  A quiet, well mannered man ??  I think you were dealing with an imposter. I would check and see if the Ivory Knob is genune and not from a Subaru and is not some explosive device that the voices told him to deliver. Im surprised you delt with someone who's name is really
Mohummad Herba Keedywar the well know terrorist of East Brainerd. I am really sorry to be the one that had to tell you this :(

OK at this time I am currently eating a serving of the above words about the disappearance of the sticker and washing it down with a cold Pepsi. On a whim I popped the door panel off and lo and behold there was the sticker. How it fell thru I do not know.   :?:  :?:    I find it strange that after putting that sticker between the glass and the door rubber at every show I have been to it never moved??     :-k  :-k   I'll leave it at that.   [-(
