The new owner, Mike really loves the car. He is just taking it to another look that he likes. I have spoke to him and he drives the car daily and his family loves the car too.

God willing when and if my life settles down and if I am ever able to I will build Copper Jewel II that is even better than the Copper Jewel I. I know the folks that can make it happen.

I wanted to build the concept I saw in Hot VW's a few years ago. It was flat(satin) black with no chrome. It had the lowered front end, big engine, nice interior. There was a Union 76 decal on the doors with checkerboard graphics running down the sides. It looked so tough. I wanted to use between a  63-67 for the project. But now I think I want to bring back an Old Skool looking Copper Jewel.

8) An update from the new owner. It is good to see the car is driven daily and is on the show circuit. He sent a jpg photo that Dean Kirsten took from Hot VW's of the car about to launch at the strip.  Dean did the original article for Hot VW's on the car so I'm sure he remembers it. I posted the jpg but can't get it to open in here. Oh well if I figure it out I'll post it.
