Mascot 'Alibi' looks very relaxed (so typical) as she poses with Sally in this not so impromptu photo taken for our Christmas letter.

Greetings to all SCVW folks.  Hope we can get together soon.  Certainly for BP-8 :D

Thanks for the kind words.  We bought this car last fall sort of on a whim after looking at a number of not so great cars locally and on the samba. The connection to this car came from a "samba" ad and it was on the second time around.  We probably don't know nearly as much about the car as we should, but this is what we were told:

1. The car was a product of a Lindy Herrell (sp?) resto in year 2000
2. It was painted by Charles Overton
3. The person who commissioned the resto backed out and Charles became the owner
4. Charles sold the car to the person from whom we purchased the car who lived in Sharpsburg, GA.
5. It purportedly has these mods:
  dropped spindles
  135 front / 195 rear meats
  custom fabric interior
1641cc engine (vintage 1966) with dual baby dells and an Engle 110 cam

Some of these items are obvious to the eye and the rest are taken on faith.  It runs and drives well and definitely goes up our East Tennessee hills without shifting down.  Overall, a very nifty car.

I have never actually had Lindy or Charles do any work for me personally, but I have met and talked with them both many times at VW shows all over over the region.  I've also seen their work first hand many, many times.  They are two of the most well respected guys in the business.  Whatever they did to your car, I'll put money on it that it was done right!    8)
