Still gott'a lot of work to do to it, but I finally got out of the bed of my truck today at the Krystal get-together. It will run off my inverter, but it's a little slow to start. Maybe I need to ask for "help with a slow starter" in the tech questions forum . . .
Here's what I started with:

And finally, today, it came off the truck for the first time since I bought it . . . and a few kids actually got to ride it.

As soon as I get the right timer relay (hopefully before Stevenson) I'll get rid of some of the scary wiring underneath it and install a new coin box . . . then I'm gonn'a retire. If it will hold out for 4 million rides, I'll be a millionaire! Who needs the lottery?

Here's my new Coin Box. I found it on eBay. It's the same model box that was originally installed on the kiddie ride, but this one came off of some type of Duck Hunt arcade game. It has the coin aceptor, but no timer.

After I get it fully restored (tires painted black, windows painted in, better steering wheel, etc.) I'm going to install an oil can under the back and poke a pin hole in the bottom of it. I've never owned a VW that didn't mark it's spot!

Rick, I've tried, but there isn't any way to squeeze my big old fat rear in the seat of this thing . . . so I've started a new diet! Give me some time and I'll get you the picture you want!
