Here is another shot, you can see the hockey stick ABOVE the shift rod coupler hole instead of in it.

Because shift rods have shift rod bushings that need to be changed from time to time, I made my shift rod 2 pieces so it can be removed with the body on. I used a combo of early Bus and Beetle rods. More on that later...Another issue with a trans raise is exhaust. Naturally if the engine is up 3in so is the exhaust and that just won't work.
Again there is a few ways to deal with this, I just lowered the muffler. Installed modded J pipes and made some extended pipes for the muffler to head and manifold crossover. I chopped a pile of pie cut pipe and welded everything up, doing it this way the angle could be made pretty sharp without taking up too much space.
