Thanks for the plug!

I want $4200 - or (another) good VW Bug.  I have enough parts to build another car! (includes a shell! - I was planning on putting a GL1500 Goldwing engine in it!)

Cool link, I thought I had a copy of every sales slip, but I have never seen that one!

Ok, long time no post...
The engine is going to have to have a head, gotta get off the crack, it's killing me.  (heads can be expensive :D )

I guess running it in december w/o a muffler and with a loose head will do that to you.

On a happy note.... Happy happy happy.  I have all NEW brakes on the bug.  I replaced every line except the hard one through the body and it help pressure all right.  I even replaced the brake res. rubber blue lines.

I have got to get the head back on and paint the tin, then I can drive it.
SOOOO excited.

More as it comes.

Drove the bug home!!!
Still have to work on the turn signals, and locate some back seat belts. I have a little concern with the lack of brake pressure....Any way See you soon in the ASBug.

Drove the Beetle to the Gas station for the 1st time in 21 years!
I guess that the bug was shocked to see the $ per gallon. (1987=0.85/gal...)  Cruised at 55 mph mostly, but ran it up to 70 once to check that out.
Have the acurssed 40-55 mph shimmy, will have to get the tires re-balanced and get a new stabilizer.

I am running 195 60's on front and back, so I know the Speedo is off.

All in all she rode well,  I am going to drive her in to work on Tuesday, barring a problem on Mondays little drive I have planned.

Have the lights and blinkers all working again, Alvin here in dalton had a good used hazard switch for $15.  (man that was a pain to put in...).
I got a extra belt and a fire extinguisher and am ready to hit the road.

Got into a fuss with the tag people in Dalton, I brought in my blue and white Georgia Plate and tried to register my car on it.  The short of the story is after a call (and wait, and wait, etc.) to atlanta, it was determined that I needed a Blue plate with a specific 1972 sticker on it.  My stickers only went back to 1973... So, as soon as I am able to locate a Blue 1971 Ga. Plate with a 1972 sticker I am good to go on registering the ASBug with a correct year plate.

I think that about covers it....

Where are you?  I'm just at the Catoosa / Whitfield line.
Are you in DOWNTOWN Cohutta or do you live in the suburbs?

Thanks Russ,
Here is what I did to those nasty reflectors....
I put some white plugs into the holes.
Kc

I always hated those reflectors, this way I can put them back on if the mood strikes me.
