1959 Double Cab

Been slow going.  I have the beam mostly finished, spindles are done, and have left Ohio bound for me.....

Not one, but two sets of cargo floors arrived here day before yesterday... long story...
Just got to get those in after i finish the floor supports.

Too cold to do anything outside, and the garage is moving right along at the house, but requiring a lot of my time.

Proof of the cold.... a pic of the paint cleaning bucket that I forgot i left sitting on the back of the double.....

I decided to pull another marathon job on this heap.  From roughly 5p.m. till 10:30 last night, and from about 9 this morning until a little after 11 p.m. tonight.  Tired now, but got a lot done.  Got my axle beam finished, and installed.  Cut out the front crosmember, and remaining outriggers, floor supports, welded in all new metal, got both inner rockers in, and was in the process of installing the outer rocker on the driver's side when the wire ran out in my welder.  I'lll finish that up in the morning, but the good news is that it's sitting back on the ground, now at a more respectable height.   8)

And, of course that the holes are diminishing.....

Believe me, Zen when i say it WAS too far gone.  But, i have always wanted a split window double cab, and with non-running rolling piles being still well out of my price range (and have you seen what a restored, or even just running wreck are going for), this was the only way it was going to happen.  In all actuality, most of the panels and pieces i am replacing are readily available.  Only some of the inner structures, small patches,  and engine compartment pieces am I having to fabricate.  Of course, i could buy funky green panels, but I figured if i can buy the panel for $200 or make it for $40, make it i would.

It looks like she'll be rolling by Bugapaluza afterall.

The only other thing i need for the show is my cutaway engine, and that one is pretty low maintenance.   :D

Remember this: I never at any time said it was too far gone. I did however know that I sure as heck couldn't do all that. looks good I'm sure I'll be sick when I see it rolling around.

I'm sure he'd take the convertable and some boot!
Heck, I'm sure he'd even just take the convertable now and let you make small payments on the rest....

Trade for vert...umm hell naw.
That would be 3 steps back in my trading evolution...cant do that. :?
Trade vert for Souped up Porsche 911...trade 911 for 50 split bug thats my plan.

The DC has the potential to be the badest lookin ride in town and the right person has it to get it done.
Go Ricky Go!!! :D
