'00 TDI on the final stretch of a mild refresh and upgrade

« on: September 16, 2012, 11:40:09 AM »
 ;)
Yep!!!

Just torqued my mildly ported and polished 1.9ner head yesterday...whahoooo!!!
Man I can't wait!!!!

As soon as I get this engine swap done for a customers 2.5 DOHC Mazda. I get to move "Blackie" into her initial loading bay. I have to fit her out with some new exhaust and up her brakes. I have decided to drop the sub-frame to fit her out with the running gear, as it is soo much easier in most ways than cherry picking the engine-trans unit in through the bonnet hole(bonnet removed of course). Anyway, I must say the 1.9 block has got to be one of the heaviest blocks I have ever worked with. It is amazing to think of the torque/hp people are creating with such a little bity tiny block, its almost cute, it is so small. She should be around 130hp and 180-200tq when the project is done. Nothing exotic, still Bio or Min fuel. Pix soon!!

Cheers

I like taking the core support and radiator out and putting it in from the front

Travis, thanks for the reminder!!!! Brain fart. I've been working on so many weld-in cages recently, I forgot about "Farfrontremovin'". Hee her

Not too much. A Stage 2 cam and mild ported head. New stock VNT 15 and some TT SS exhaust. All buttoned up to a 6spd.

I send all of my software requests off to Jeff at RocketChip or Jerry at Gpo (unitronic)

I've had a few "modified" diesels over the years. The mk4 alh based cars have been the most fun for me so far.

:) I've been talking to Mark @ Malone about this tune. It took me forever and minute to get this far. I want my car back. I wish I would have spent the money I spent on Blackie instead of a 78 Big Block 460 Bronco I had at the same time. Oh well, lal...:)
