WTB type 4 oil cooler ASAP!

well my bus started leaking oil pretty bad last weekend, and it looks like its coming from around the oil cooler. the cooler is soaked with oil...  :-\

sooooo now I get to tear the motor apart and replace it...

Anyone got a GOOD type 4 oil cooler they can sell me? tryin to get this back on the road before the show next month!


I need one ASAP!

Not too bad of a teardown, you can remove the rear tin and fan shroud and get to the oil cooler with the motor in place. That's what Kyle and I did on mine.

You can test your oil cooler first, there's a little tool that lets you hook up an air compressor so you can test for leaks. I'd make certain it's leaking before replacing.

well after idling it in my garage, I noticed oil bubbling up around the top of my oil pressure switch. At about 2,000 rpm, it starts pouring up and out around the top. $5 dollar part, alot easier to replace. so I think I got it now. THANK GOODNESS, as I hate to disassemble the motor....    :D

Yep, you got lucky. New oil coolers are a lot more expensive than $5.

A lot faster, a lot easier, a lot cheaper..... I'd say very lucky for sure.
