Before you do this, come look at mine.
I have a set on mine as a temporary measure until I can reindex the rear. I have the drivers lifted up all 2" and the passengers about 1.5" to get it level.
It rides STIFF on the back.
Lamar has them in stock in Dalton, for approx $75. Let me know and I'll pick you a set up and bring them up for the next cruise in for you (ringgold).

Ok I was just thinking it would be easier than moving the torsion bars,  wonder if this is a common problem?  My rear is tucked pretty good and the front is stock,  maybe in need some dropped front spindles,
Really want to keep this one stock, maybe the wife will drive it

Seems to me that moving the torsion bars would be more exact. I've seen about 1,000 reviews of the coil overs on thesamba, and everyone agrees that they are junk and don't accomplish the lift needed for the VW butt sag. I'd save my $75 and reindex after looking at a chart to figure out how many inner and how many outer splines to rotate.

***NOTE*** My buss has a butt sag because I haven't done this, so don't feel like I'm judging you and telling you to do it!

I don't think Anyone tried to lower it,  I just think its sagging but I may be wrong,  I've lowered several so it should just be the opposite ,  someone covered up the access holes in the rocker,  it needs rockers also

it seems to me that almost all VWs have the butt sag just from 40 years of sitting on those torsion bars. I don't know why the rears seem to have more fatigue than the front, but they all seem to sit a little butt down. It is fairly common to give it like two outter splines up and one inner spline down (don't quote me on that!) in order to level it back out.

I do want to point out that all ghias at stock height have a nose up stance.
I have mine jacked up at approximately 1.5 inches in the back. With this amount of lift the engine cover and the hood look "level" and right.  But with these changes and looking at the rocker panel profile vs. pavement the Ghia appears to have quite a bit of rake (>2"). Based off all the dealer photos and such that I have seen, it appears that the ghia (in original form) has a reverse rake , boat like stance that was so popular in the 50's and 60's.
Just saying...
