Please let me know if you can help me out.  Thanks

Thanks Alan,  It suddenly occured to me very early this morning that I had a 68 swing axle tranny W/ 4 lug drums that came off of the original rusty Allison pan that I am replacing. Well Dud !!! I must be losing it. I have been tripping over it for a year. So I just need 2 adapters. I think I will just order new ones plus a few other little goodies from Moores.

Do I hear the pounding of your new and improved ticker? Progress being made no doubt. Nuthin would be sweeter than to see you terrorizing Brainerd rd in that litttle buggy cept maybe in the Kdf looker.

i don't think you want to use adapters... especially only two.., on the front no less... just get a set of new drums/rotors and have them drilled for the pattern you want! no adapters needed!

Why ?   Never had any trouble before . Besides you can't re-drill a drum off a old model Link pin front end or rear for that matter on the account of the curve outward just below the wide-five flat pattern. Even if you could machine a flat surface on those drums, you would only have about
a 1/4 inch of "meat" left. Why would it make any difference to just run front adapters. I don't think the buggy would care whats on the back. Alan has been running adapters on his Allison for years.
I don't think that anybody makes a 4 lug drum for a link pin spindle but if they do  It would be a no brainer and they would be on the way here, But I'm not going to drop a wad of money for a disc brake set up just so I wouldn't have to deal with adapters.
If you know who makes old model 4 lug drums let me know who and I will jump on them as long as they don't cost more than my buggy.
The only time I ever heard about a problem was when some Bozo didn't  take time to check on them or didn't install them properly from the "Get Go"

Hey , Something else. I just checked all of my catalogs and nobody sells or even offers a disc brake conversion for a link pin front axle. '66 up ball joint front axle only.

Thanks Jason ,I'll check it out. By the way where in the heck have you been ? Missed you on the Forum.

And now you Scott.  Albert De Allison is starting to come together. Pan is shorten and Der Moose is coming to the House of Johnston Friday to lecture to me on the fine points of Mig welding of said pan since the Pacemaker folks said I can weld things as long as I don't stick the wire where the sun don't shine. Can't wait to dig out my C.S,N. & Y. teeshirt , head band and my G-15s, grab Linda and  go cruising Brainerd Rd. Drive by where the "Nickle Bag" use to be long ago and maybe even hang out at a A-W where ever one is.    Ah ! Such memories !
Dang if I'm not going to enjoy my 3rd childhood better than the 2nd one :hippy2:  :occasion5:

WOW !!   Zen, Thank you much. This is the way to do it !   This is also the only catalog I didn't have.
VWGirl, I stand corrected. When you are out of the loop for a few years , all kinds of goodies show up you would have killed for along time ago.
