Wanted - Dasher Heat Control Valve

« on: February 20, 2007, 09:57:10 PM »
At the meeting last night the Godfather confirmed my fears . . . the heat control valve for my 79 Dasher is a "Dasher Only" part.  I need one.  The heater works great the way I have it hooked up . . . as long as it's below freezing outside.  When it gets up around 60, having some way to cut the heat down a bit would be nice.    If anyone has a good one they want to part with, contact me . . . please.   [-o<

Here is a "Triangle Book of Knowledge"  hint.   How about a "C" clamp with large lips.  This way you can pull over to the side of the road ,jump out and adjust the clamp every 3 miles. This way you can mantain the reputation of proper "Triangle Maintenance" without suffering the aftereffects of driving all day in a machine that is reliable.

Slipping???  We've not only got Homer and Stupie, now we have a Dasher . . . and they are ALL on the road down here in the triange!  Be afraid!  Be VERY afraid! . . . especially if you're behind me.    I have been known to pull the old drop-yer-oil-plug-and-soak-em trick . . . and I'm not above tossing a heater box either! . . . or a bumper . . . and Homer's door has a tendancy to fall off every now and then . . .

I don't quite get this, but anytime there is even a hint of warm weather the "Triangle" specie comes out of their caves in a effort to create panic among the normal. I think we need to blow the bridges now.

Should I have my father in law bring my remington M24 back to me and defend the ridge?Or will a simple soap and water filled ballon suffice? I figure the dirt holds em together if we wash their cars they might die?

I'm not sure a Dasher counts as a combat multiplier?Stupie maybe but most of the danger might be to the driver more than followers. That would put him on our side I think.

True Story:  Joy and I were on our way to Octoberfest a couple of years ago in Homer.  I had taken Joy to work several days that week and Homer was pretty much covered in dust from the rock quarry where she works.  She wanted me to wash it and I kept telling her the dirt was all that was holding it together . . . but she insisted, so I stopped at a car wash in Chickamauga.  Sure 'nuff . . . I hit the left rear corner with the pressure washer and a chunk of bondo that must have weighed 20 pounds fell off.  So, yes, the dirt is all that is holding it together. I haven't washed it since then.  Nothing else has fallen off since then either.  Well, nothing except the sliding door.  And a couple of mirrors.  And that coil wire that rode on the rear bumper for a over a year.

That's great! Maybe I should stop washing mine. The overider fell off a couple weeks ago. I had to go back and fight the traffic on Ringold rd to get it back. You think if I sprinkle some dirt on th emotor it would stay together?

On it, maybe . . . in it, no.  Has to be the right kind of dirt to do any good.  Red mud works pretty good, but I've found that limestone quarry dust works best . . . get it good and wet, pack it on, let it dry . . . it trys to turn back into limestone.  Keeps all them chunks of rust firmly stuck together.  Just make sure you wear safety glasses if you ever have to crawl under the car and bolt anything back on.
