I've got two rear engine tins for a 40 horse. I'm going to use the one with the fresh air hose openings on my 63 bug. The other one is solid (no fresh air heater holes). You can have it if you want it . . . maybe you can cut the needed holes in it.
The difference between the 40 horse and 1300-1600 engines is the width (head to head). The length (pulley to flywheel) is the same. I "think" the front (flywheel end) tin and heater boxes from a 1600 will work on 40 horse. The lower tins from a 1600 could be sliced, overlapped and welded back together for makeshift lower tins. 40 horse stuff is hard to find. Most of it was tossed out in the 70s and 80s when a good used 1600 could be bought for under $100 at a junk yard.
