I stripped the threads in my head when I was removing the heater box so I could replace the copper seal in the exhaust port. Didn't break the stud off inside the head luckily, but it was a pain in the ass to repair. I got a time-sert kit and drilled out the hole big enough to tap it in, then threaded the exhaust stud into the time-sert. It worked and it's held up over the last couple of years, but it was extremely nerve-racking work! Trying to keep the drill steady and straight while drilling into the head (on your back upside down) was the toughest part. I hope I never have to do a job like that again.
