71 and 72 will interchange.  I think the teilights interchange from either 1962 or 63 through 1967, then 1968 through 1970, then 1971 & 1972, then the big lights from 1973 through 2004.  When your doing a restoration, you'll usually have a hard time finding new trim parts that fit only 1 or 2 years.  It it fits 3 or more years, it's usually pretty easy to get.  Used will probably be your best bet.
