Sound-Heat Rubber Insert over Engine Compartment

« on: March 25, 2010, 04:02:38 PM »
I’ve got a 1970 Campmobile and I’m looking for the rubber insert that goes in a bus engine compartment above the engine. From my understanding these served two purposes to reduce engine sound in the cab and serve as a heat barrier. I can’t seem to find anything online. Does anybody know where I might be able to find them either online or an old bus laid out to pasture.

Thanks,

Sid

I attached a picture below referencing where the peice I was mentioning is located. They appear to be a hard rubber like material and there are two of them direclty above the engine.

You can buy univeral heat shield/ insulation barrier material that should work, Pep Boys carried some at one time i think.
