Ridemaster Suspensions

« on: March 25, 2009, 07:19:42 PM »
Just putting the word out I will be stocking limited numbers of Ridemaster custom vw suspension parts. Parts range from complete beam setups to beam kits and sideplates. This isn't your everyday garage made "custom beam" All beams are built from scratch no hacked up og beams. All parts are cut on a state of the art laser jet machine not bubba's torch. These are about the best thing you can do if you want to lower your aircooled vw. Complete setups are serial numbered and supplied in limited amounts.

Price list to follow. 1st shipment will be arriving for Bugapalooza!
For those of us with smaller pockets I will be offering complete unassembled  beam kits. So if you can weld you can assemble your own.
Also available: sideplates for type 2 beam builds and various applications.

I've seen several of these installed, and they are sweet.....

If you want to pick up a kit, I can do the welding up for a nominal fee....

Forgot to mention the owner of the company insist on quality installation. He is not a shade tree kinda guy by any means.
Rick will be the local certified installer/fabricator as well as myself. I do not reccomend newbies to install these kits or fabricate pre made kits on their own. I will have a jig and soon so will Rick. These are not stock at all , there are many variables when dealing with lowered suspensions and alot of tricks that are built in to these beams that you dont get with factory hack beam jobs.
These beams can lay pan with or without drop spidles, you should speak to a rep for recomendations before spending your hard earned dollars.

Here's a pic of the ridemaster 6.5 inch narrowed beam thats on my 62. I ride on what I sale nuthin else. If you've seen one that looks this good please do tell. :D
Notice  the inverted lower adjuster and brand new torsions. These torsions are made to provide a certain spring rate that facory cut off's can't provide. Also the adjusters are welded in a predetermaned optimal angle. Alot of R&D has went into this setup and you can tell the difference.
Not pictured but the tie rods are heavy duty thicker than stock units that are also made to order.

You will  find another beam that performs like them anywhere. In my opinion this is the best money can buy. I can't think of any other beam being produced that even comes close in fabrication and materials. The difference between the 2 are the little details that matter.

I will have a good selection of parts for all your pavement dragging needs at Bugapaloza. Glad I pre registered sounds like yall are going to have alot of vendors this year.

If your pockets aren't so deep dont worry I will also have a nice supply of beam build kits that Rick can put together a bit cheaper. These kits give you the same materials as the fully built ones at a fraction of the cost!
Hope to see you there!!!

Just got off the phone with the owner of Ridemaster I should have the following at Bugapalooza:

1 Complete deluxe beam in raw finish for display
Several beam kits 4-6inch narrowed
Narrowed custom built tie rods and hardware
2 sets each or more of just about every side plate/gusset you can think of.
(ball joint with and without shocks, link pin with and without shocks, not to mention a crazy variety of bus beam side plates.

This show will be the debute for Ridemaster Suspensions in the southeast.  For the last 2 years these beams were custom order only and you had to know the owner to get one. I wont have a huge stock to start with so if you want one get on it fast. Anyone who wants one afterwards can contact me and place an order.

I will have a price list before the show. I am also authorized to accept a limited amount of pre orders at the show.
Pre-orders are limited to 3 deluxe beams per show and 10 beam kits per show. So if your thinkin about a nice set up for your beetle be sure to get to the vending area and see me before they are gone.

New myspace page for the southeaster branch check it out:

This should give you a good idea of the quality of the products.
I've talked to a few peope who are pretty fed up with parts that dont fit or work properly as well as poor craftsmenship of beams. This is not a mom and pops hack shop operation this is the real deal. 8)

The economy kit will be a new endeavor for us and will be offered for a very reasonable price. It features the same material as the deluxe beam except for the deluxe uprights. these are still god but do not offer body mounts. However they are not flat bar and are the correct size for stock hardware. You can order a deluxe kit for a few dollars more if you want the super nice uprights. Price list will be posted tonight!

How did it go this weekend?
I saw the beams and they look good, the work on them seemed good.
I see alot of components built that I design here at work, and the craftsmanship seemed good.
I hope that you do well, and I'll be asking some opinions on how best to lower a little the ASBug possibly in the future, Running 195 50 15's all the way around and want to go to a 195 60 15 on the back when these tires go but keep the 195 50's on the front.  I just hate the large gap over the front tires...
Good luck,
KC :D

Vending didn't go to well for most of us but no biggie. Made alot of contacs with othe rbusiness owners who are placing orders so in the end it came out pretty good.
When ever you get ready let me know and I'll take a look at it and discuss options. To start the best option would be just a simple set of drop spindles to get rid of the gap.

Bugnut,

I'll be in contact when the time is right on the front end...
Can you give me an estimate for installing a set of drop spindles ($'s with me or you suppling the spindles,) and an option for lowering the ASBug 1 click or so in the back?  I want this as a seperate line item because if I go with the laarger tires, I'll not need dropping in the back.
I'm running the old style empi 8's and I believe that they are all 5" wide ones (the wider of the 2 sizes available...)
It is a standard 1972 bug.
Also would like to know if there is any thing that should be replaced while the spindles are out.  (Assume all the front end components are OEM...)
I do have new gas shocks on it already.
Thanks,
KC :D
