rear engine door,lock handle,for 73 camper??

hey,i was wanting to replace my engine door handle,on my 73 camper with a lock and key handle.the handle has the one screw in it.mid america motorworks has one for a bug.does anyone know what year would convert over to my 73 bus.the guy at motorworks wasent sure.thanks

I'm not absolutly sure, but I think they are the same part on a bug and bus . . . Seems like there are two different ones (one had one mounting screw and another had either two or three screws . . . I think . . . I get dangerous when I think), but they were used in different years, and whatever was used on the bugs was used on the buses of the same year.  My bus is a 73, and I've got 68, 74 and 75 Beetles sitting in the yard.  I'll take a look tomorrow evening and see what those look like.

Just checked mine.  From the outside they appear the same, but the latch portion inside is WAY different.  There are two different ones on bugs . . . my 68 is held on by 3 screws, and there is only 1 screw in my 74 and 75 Super Beetles.  My 73 bus has one screw, but again the inside latch part of it isn't even close.
