If anyone has one, I am in need of a driver side full floorpan for my '72.  I have a bunch of misc. parts that I could trade with.  J.R.  779-7927

buy one from chuck at Mainly Foreign.  Last I checked, he had them in stock and the price was quite reasonable (keep in mind shipping costs of current day if you mail order them.

I was planning on calling him tomorrow.  I can order one through my work for $120 shipped.  If he has them cheaper, I'll buy one from him.

I did go to Mainly Foreign today and purchased a new floorpan.  Will be trying it tonight.  If anyone has any advice, give it!  My only wonder is can I just line up the front hump (the part that laps over the 2 front bolts on the head) and go from there, or do I really need to put the body back on and install that way?

easy way is remove the old pan half, use an air chisel and remove the leftover strip or drill out all the spot welds on the strip nd remove it. Pan should fit reasonably well you might have to snip a lil here and there.
Theres a bit for drilling the new pan for the welds thats handy. Weld away and seam seal the entire pan, Undercoating is a good idea too.

I already have the old ones out.  The PO had riveted them in at one point.  I am just worried that if I weld them in just like they came, would the bolt holes line up with the body?  Are these things suppose to be trimmed from left to right?

for the love of God, lower the body and loosely fasten it...tust me, if not said holes most likely will not line up.
That can be really aggravating.
