Need a case

« on: March 15, 2010, 11:54:25 PM »
The Godfather has spoken!
I showed him the case I was wanting to rebuild after the meeting and he said no way! That puts me on a hunt for a new(er) case. He recommended an AE or later (AH) case that hasn't been line bored over .020 or .040. Anyone know of anything locally?

I posted in the "show us your vw" section that I was relatively new to the club and I was rebuilding the engine in my '69 for the get away car at my wedding in July. Despite that, I've had Bonnie (the '69) for 3 1/2 years and she's never made it to BP. I have a good feeling she won't make it again, BUT I did make a trailer hitch mounted engine stand! So I plan to bring the engine to the cruise ins and BP via my trailer hitch until she can bring herself. I'd greatly appreciate anybody's help with this rebuild. I also have a type IV case, crank, heads and some tin, throttle bodies and a whole tub of other type IV stuff I have no need for....perhaps you do?

Let me know,
Nick

Nick,
I have an AE case that will need align bored, but has never been split, it has the oil pump, and flywheel still attached and comes with the rods / crank / cam still in it.
If you want it = $45.
