need 2 bbl carb for bus

« on: March 28, 2007, 03:35:48 PM »
Ok...I now have a 73 Westy in my corral of Vws.  It was running and had a small engine fire a few years ago. I have everything fixed back except for a carb. It had an OLD Solex 2 bbl that even the Godfather has never seen, but is the same bolt pattern as a Weber. This is all I need to get it going....so, if anyone out there has something I can use or rebuild let me know. Scott, the Godfather said that you might have something that can get me on my way.   Thanks

I got some weber 2bls. I think their might be 3 or 4 out in my garage.Probably need linkage kits and rebuild kits though. Your welcome to take a few and piece em together if you want to. I rebuilt 1 already linkage was like $10 and the rebuild kit was around $20. Anywho it's free if you need it. If you dont like free just drop somethin off for the next guy.

Hey man! No, I havent gotten them yet. I have been busy with the sale of my house and buying the new one....I cant even think straight  :-({|=  I did call Redline and they have the linkage for 29 bucks and the kit for the same. Lamar down at American Foreign has the kit for it for 24 but not the linkage. I am gonna wait till the show to see if some vendor has an old weber with the linkages on it, if not will order after the move. I have the van ready though...thats all it needs. Will camp at the show in it, but it will be a trailer queen

$29 is steep for linkage. I'd do what your sayin and find one at the show for sure. I'll keep an eye open for one.
