Hey Big,  On your Super B,  If you have any "slop" in the front end parts starting at the steering wheel all the way out to the front wheels, your car will shimmy like a Vegas showgirl at 50-55 MPH. Check everthing that moves, turns, balance, tire pressures, bent rims, alignment, struts, loose wheel brg. etc. Any ONE of those things will cause the same shimmy. Super Beetles are famous for their "Shimmy".
