haha.. i need some bus seats

« on: September 27, 2007, 09:25:08 PM »
well, im contemplating on buying a 67 bus  .. The problem is: It needs both rear seats, and im afraid that they might be worth more than the bus..

Does anyone have anything for sale?? What would be the best direction to take??

Any input is greatly appreciated-
Thanks,
Chris

WHAT !!   You are going to buy a Bus ????    Your Daddy and I both need to sit you down and have a very long talk.
If you just have to buy one, you could do a lot worse than going for a '67.  That would be my choice.
As far as seats go, I would just buy the seats and sit them in you office for Shannon The Official B-F  Puppy Greeter to lounge on. Seats don't break down as much and you wouldn't have to buy a tow bar.

well, I did it.. and.. I might regret it before its over..

The search is officially on :) .. so, if anyone has any leads, lemme know.. Id much rather stimulate the local economy than the other nazis..

In the mean time, does anyone know of a good psychiatrist??
Heres a pic for shits and giggles-

Mack's long lost twin brother!!!!  The only way you can tell the difference in the two is that Mack has rear seats.

Let the games begin.  Does it funtion ?  Not bad looking either. Probley the best $75.00 you ever spent.

Hey Brian, His right front bumper guard looks better than yours. If I know Chris, he more than likely found this van in a barn where it had been stored since 1968 after logging in 3500 total miles when a plug wire hopped off.  Chris may be my adopted son, but he is really begining to piss me off for finding all these little jems.

Whats next Chris, a warehouse full of new Kubelwagens , A mid 30s prototype Bug or will it be Dr. Porche's left testicle ?   Gezzzzz !!

Ok, maybe a few things different.  Their VW emblems are different colors too.  :D  Which brings me to a question I was wondering.  I have seen so many Split buses whos emblem is the same color as the lower portion of the two tone paint job.  Was this the standard way they came from the factory?  If so why do I have a white one?  Almost everything on my bus seems to be original.  And out of all the service records I have there are not any body shop receipts.  The only sign of some touch up is on the window frames.

This one is definitely nothing to brag about- other than it sports original paint.. Most areas on the bus have a bit to be desired :D

The engine and trans were rebuilt in the late 90's, and she was parked.. I spent a few hours with her on saturday and got her to run, and got the brakes squared away (for now  ).. The tires are wobbly, but, I managed to drive it all over town yesterday..

My hunt for seats isnt going to well.. Most people ive found that have anything, should just buy a bus to go with their seats :x

Brian, Maybe you should just sell me one of your seats so that we could be more alike :D

Hmmmmm,   For the first time in a long time, Chris "cruised" by our house and didn't stop and show off his "ride".  All we heard was a strange sound that  once could have been a horn.  Sounded more like a couple of Buddist Monks on drugs.
Chris, Its ok if you stop by. We still love you, Shannon Puppy, Bus and all

:D  well, those were my test and tune runs.. When I have enough confidence that the bus will stop, the emergency brake will hold, and she might crank back when its time to leave.. I'll definitely have to show it to yall.. It might be something to look at in the dark since it looks like its been sittin in a barn for 8 yrs without a bath :D

Hell Fire Chris !!  What in heck do you think anchor chains and a couple of bricks are for.  What gives you the right to have more "Working Stuff" on your bus than anybody else has with their bus ? Its all normal or it wouldn't be a bus.  Shoot,Look at Brian who spent a quite relaxing weekend at the "cookout" chasing busted clutch cables and "ripping" out a transmisson. Its all normal.

:D  If I can keep her runnin that long, I will..

Since the ret bugtech lives close by, maybe I can give him and Linda a ride :) .. I know he would want to make it there and back

If anyone runs across anything, let me know.. Even a camper interior would be awesome-

Thanks,
Chris

I have a pair of black front buckets and rear (no middle) seats for the '77 Bus that I sold. They need reupholstering including padding for front seats. I don't know if they will fit a '67.
